So I mentioned to some people at work that I was looking for a summer job, preferably in another IBM department. (my current job ends in mid-April) Well, one of my co-workers sent my resume around internally and someone got in touch with me. I basically scheduled an interview with them. Just walked to the building next door during lunch on Wednesday and spent about an hour talking with two people in their department. I felt pretty good about it when I left, and went to the IBM cafeteria to grab some lunch to eat at my desk. When I got back, the manager I had just talked to sent me an IM-like message telling me she wanted me to work with them! That was a fast response. =) I told her I’d like to think about it but will most likely accept. At this point, the HR people still have to formally extend an offer to me. But it’s nice to know that I now have a job through August! I’m glad that I’ll be in Chapel Hill for a while longer, I like it here. =)
