Awesome news! I have a technical interview with Google on March 24th! In case you didn’t know, Google is just about the most awesome place for someone like me to work. I mean really, they have roller-hockey in the parking lot twice a week and 20% of each employee’s time is dedicated to whatever personal project they want to work on! Could I possibly be a better fit for this? They even have free lunches that actually taste good. (no I can’t personally vouch for the quality myself)
You can read more about Google’s awesomeness on the Wikipedia! I think my roommate is more excited about this interview than I am. However, I am preparing. I know a guy who has interviewed with them and he has been quizzing me daily. Practice makes perfect! The questions don’t seem terribly complicated, but they do require a bit of thought. I think the most important thing will be voicing my thought processes so they know I know what I’m doing.
My only concerns are pay and moving across the country. I hear their pay is mediocre, which is somewhat of an importance considering the cost of living in California. Plus, I’ve never even been out there so I don’t really know what to expect. That said, I doubt I’d turn down an offer from Google. I’m smart, they’re awesome, I’m young. I can definitely see myself working there and loving it.
Wish me luck! Check back for updates…
Hello Michael,
I’m also in the road to have a Google interview soon for a position as Software Engineer. Could you help me to better understand how exactly it works?(sagepote@yahoo.com).
Goolge is very good place to work in. although this post is old, but I want to share with you a website I run across that talks about Google interviews
